Not Just Another Brick In The Wall

In wide-eyed wonder I came
Emitting bravado, faking masculinity
Rejoicing in the little pleasures
Shackles broken, free from captivity.

Tears in my eyes, today I leave
Braving tomorrow, gaining maturity
Reliving freedom in memories unbound
Handcuffing myself to binding responsibility.
